Fashion Field Trip: Queen Anne
One of the unique things about Seattle is that we don’t have a single shopping row, instead, we have a variety of neighborhoods around town that each offer a distinct shopping experience. It was for this very reason that I started doing “fashion field trips” a few years ago to take my friends around town to visit boutiques they had never been to.
The trips started small with easy visits to the best boutiques in the city and since then they’ve expanded to grand adventures and day-long trips that include shopping, dining, and even trips to the spa. The truth is, people really DO love discovering hidden gems around town and supporting local businesses in their own backyards. These independent boutiques are the cornerstones of our communities and it’s more important than ever to shop local and support them.
This year, I encourage you to embark on a fashion field trip of your own. Whether you visit a single shop or you make a day of it by exploring multiple boutiques, the shift in the season is the perfect excuse to explore.
As a long-time Queen Anne resident, I know all the best places to shop. Here’s a round-up of a few of my favorite boutiques that you can’t miss if you come to the neighborhood.
Cura Co. - This shop is NEW to Queen Anne but not new to Seattle (the original location on Union street was opened back in 2019). Founder Kiko Eisner-Waters does an amazing job of curating products that are ethically sourced and socially conscious. Shop online here.
Foundation - Founder Summer David has a natural knack for sourcing beautiful things at prices you can actually afford. In her shop on Queen Anne, you’ll find updated classics, elevated basics, easy accessories, and must-have Seattle staples like outerwear and essential layering pieces. Shop online here.
Meadow - Located just off the main street on 6th Ave W., Meadow stocks women’s apparel and accessories, small home goods, and gifts. It’s a great shop where you’ll truly find “something for everyone”. Check out the website here.
Millie - Locally owned by Kathryn Hyde, Millie is a fashion-forward boutique that stocks apparel, accessories, handbags, and gifts. Shop via Instagram here.
Queen Anne Dispatch - I’m obsessed with this boutique for many reasons, but mostly because I adore owners Tara and Sabrina, who also happen to be sisters. They do an amazing job of being a central hub for the neighborhood by being a place where people can ship packages, receive mail, and shop for gifts. Learn more.
Queen Anne Frame & Gift - At this cute local boutique you can frame photos and art, shop for gifts, and pick up air plants and home decor. Learn more.
Stuhlbergs - This boutique is one of my favorites on the hill because it carries a variety of gifts, home goods, jewelry, apothecary items, baby toys, and so much more. There’s always something new and exciting to discover. Learn more.
Vixen Collection - Similar to The Cura Co., this shop is NEW to Queen Anne but not new to Seattle (the original location is in Magnolia). Vixen carries women’s fashion, accessories, gifts, and spa products. Check out the assortment on Instagram here.
Willa - At this cute little shop on the top of Queen Anne you’ll find elevated basics like cozy cashmere and must-have denim, plus jewelry, handbags, hats, and accessories. Check them out on Instagram here.
Every single shop on this list is independently owned and operated. The women who run these shops care deeply about meeting the needs of the community and supporting fellow female entrepreneurs. You’ll see this by the brands they stock on their shelves and through the partnerships they cultivate around town. Where you spend your money matters. Please consider shopping locally this season.
