What She Said Women in Music Recap
Last month W Seattle hosted a special ‘What She Said’ Women In Music event that featured a lively cocktail mixer followed by a dynamic panel discussion moderated by KEXP DJ Evie Stokes. Designed to celebrate the amazing women in music who are taking the industry by storm, the event also offered an opportunity for each panelist to share their unique career journey and lessons learned along the way.
Voices on the panel included Femme House Co-founder LP Giobbi, who also serves as the Music Director for W Hotels in North America, producer/composer Keeley Bumford a.k.a. Dresage (who recently released a new song with Hollis), twins DJ’s Coco and Breezy (who were recently featured by Vogue), and artist management consultant Lauren Spalding, a.k.a. Hermixalot, who is also a co-founder of the 501c(3) non-profit Femme House. The discussion ranged from the importance of daily self-care practices to the need for additional pathways for women in the music industry to launch successful careers. Each panelist offered words of wisdom to help women overcome the fear and inevitable imposter syndrome that often accompanies the launch of any new venture, and also provided tangible tips for success via an interactive Q&A session.
