“Our story is about how grief inspires action, and sorrow inspires beauty. After months of watching my glamorous grandmother fade, I took scissors to fabric and created a gown that could have supported her changing body and mind if it had been available. What took shape was a garment whose features allow for patient functionality without denying modesty or style. The collection is a wellness wardrobe of thoughtfully designed and sustainably crafted patient gowns and adaptive clothing that offers dignity, comfort, and support during life’s significant moments. Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Arkëras gowns are designed locally, sourced domestically, and produced using a range of eco-friendly fabrics including linen, modal, and organic cotton, for soft, touchable luxury.
Traditional patient gowns are made to be “one-size-fits-all” with an awkward and immodest fit. By stark contrast, Arkëras gowns are made with style in mind and designed to feel soft, fit well, and provide accessibility and coverage. Signature Styles
Arkëras offers three signature styles including The Classic, The Wrap, and The Henley.
The Classic features an original silhouette that supports ease of dressing and concern for dignity with size-inclusivity in mind. Inspired by the need for functionality, it is well suited to any stage of mobility and any body shape.
The Wrap offers two gowns in one with unique reverse styling functionality. Choose from a V-neck wrap front or a scoop neck open back. Either way, modesty and accessibility are preserved. Although suitable for any health journey, The Wrap was designed with maternity in mind and supports all stages of motherhood.
The Henley is as easy as your favorite tee. Featuring a front placket with non-metal snaps (to keep company with pacemakers), this style features signature back panels that provide simultaneous access and coverage. This gender-neutral gown is great for anyone who craves cozy warmth and easy style.
A stunning 67% of people report that a standard hospital gown does not fit their body. With size inclusivity in mind, Arkëras created gowns that flow and drape across a full spectrum of body types. The easy-fit size range runs from XS (size 0-2) to XXL (size 16-20).
