Noir Lux Candle Co. partners with Dick's Drive-In on hilarious April Fools Prank
Dick’s Drive-In recently partnered with Noir Lux Candle Co. on a hilarious April Fool’s Day prank. They posted a video on their Instagram page introducing “Eau de Parfum de Pomme Frite by Ricardeaux", a uniquely handcrafted fragrance made by 5th-generation Seattleites using essential oils and the “essence of Washington-grown potatoes”. Targeting Dick’s Drive-In fans who love french fries, the video promoted the fragrance’s alluring scent highlighting its “gently salted” and “tantalizing aroma". When readers clicked on the link to buy the fragrance, they were taken to this landing page only to realize they had been duped. Because really, who wants to smell like french fries when you can smell like a delicious Strawberry milkshake instead?
The candle retails for $30 USD and $1 from every candle sold is donated to Dick’s Drive-In charity partners. Since 1998, Dick’s Change for Charity program has donated over $2.5 million to charity.
