Live Panel: Diversifying Sustainable Fashion
Join the Sustainable Fashion Alliance for a discussion about how the fashion industry can (and should) redistribute power. It’s no secret that communities of color have been living and working regeneratively for generations; from individual acts such as recycling to more community-based practices like mutual aid and regenerative agriculture. These practices are now being recognized by the mainstream as “new solutions” under the catch-all term of “sustainability". Communities of color are negatively impacted the most by the effects of our extractive economy, they aren’t recognized by the mainstream for holding the solutions. In some cases, they are event prevented from being part of the conversation.
Featured speakers include:
Katie Pruett: Editor-in-Chief of Ethical Style Journal
Manpreet Kalra: Activist, Anti-racism Educator, Co-founder of Reclaim Collaborative, Founder of Art of Citizenry + Podcast Host
Brittany Sierra, Founder of Sustainable Fashion Forum
Suzanne Vetillart, Founder of Boma Jewelry
Taylor Jay, Founder of Taylor Jay
Don’t miss this LIVE discussion about the power dynamic in the sustainable fashion industry and what some groups are doing now to take action.
