K Banana celebrates one month anniversary of U Village storefront
K Banana, Seattle’s destination for K-beauty skincare and accessories, celebrated the one month anniversary of their storefront at U Village on June 18th. What originally began as a pop-up has now become a permanent store featuring an array of K-beauty favorites including sheet masks, jade rollers, skin care, nail polish, make-up and fashion accessories from brands like TPSY, Too Cool for School, BTS, Huxley, IPKN, Moart, Whal Myung, and A’Pieu.
“My friends and I have always loved trying new beauty products and kept finding amazing things when we would visit Korea,” says store founder Liz Kang Yates, “With the trend gaining momentum, we wanted to create a highly engaging experience while featuring a fun and unique mix of products.”
The interior of the new 650-square-foot store is a color explosion of fun featuring playful, wall-to-wall murals painted by local artist Jesse Brown. Designer Austin Hicks of Glass Box Gallery also worked closely with the team to create beautiful, custom fixtures for the store that showcase product and double as art installations. “Korean beauty products are known for their bright colors and whimsical packaging, so we designed a unique, immersive experience to complement that feeling,” said Yates.
In addition to Instagram-worthy selfie walls and a new BIY (Beauty It Yourself) gifting station featuring travel-size, K-Beauty products, accessories, and candy, K Banana also brought back its signature vending machine face mask wall stocked with over 150 different types of K-Beauty sheet masks.
K Banana recently got to show off the new storefront and talk K-Beauty trends with host Ellen Tailor of Q13 Fox. Check out all 3 morning news segments here.
