G&G to mentor 2022 PreCycle Innovation Challenge Team
I’m excited to announce that I’ll be providing mentorship to a team focused on circularity in the fashion industry for the 2022 PreCycle Innovation Challenge. Designed as a pitch competition to source ideas for the best business product, service, or idea that addresses waste prevention, the program is hosted by Seattle Good Business Network and Zero Waste WA. Over the course of five weeks, participating teams will receive technical and business support, mentorship, and strategic coaching to help bring their ideas to life. A final day-long virtual event will take place on May 23, 2022, where teams will be judged on innovation, waste prevention, equitable impact, environmental impact, and scalability. A $15,000 cash prize will be awarded to the winner of the business competition. Post-event, teams will be offered mentorship to carry viable ideas forward.
Good to Know
Circular fashion is a concept that considers the entire life cycle of a product from start to finish in an effort to reduce its impact on the planet. That means design teams are creating goods that deeply consider the end of life of each product in order to protect vital resources and eco systems.
The PreCycle Innovation Challenge is just one effort, in a constellation of state-wide initiatives, working to advance our region’s transition to a circular economy. Learn more about the PreCycle Innovation Challenge here.
