Andieanderin to launch 5 new styles for holiday
Andieanderin, the Seattle fashion accessory brand that makes silk neckties inspired by influential women, is launching 5 new styles for the holiday season this week. Scheduled to be available on Thursday, November 1st, collection two includes styles inspired by Iris Apfel, Amelia Earhart, NASA mathematicians Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Christine Darden, Seattle philanthropist Melinda Gates, and landscape architect Maya Lin. Inspired by style icon Iris Apfel, the “One of a Kind” 100% silk necktie (shown above) mixes print elements worn in real life by Iris, celebrating her “more is more” mentality when it comes to fashion. 3’’ wide x 68’’ long. Made in NYC.
The “High Flier” (shown above) is inspired by Amelia Earhart and is Andieanderin’s first 100% leather necktie. Made from premium Italian leather, this necktie is designed to represent a no-fuss uniform look. The leather is symbolic of classic aviator jackets worn in the early years of flight. Features airplane pin closure. 1.25’’ wide x 24” long. Made in NYC.
Inspired by the incredible ladies in the mathematics department at NASA, the “Women That Add Up” tie features an outer space print that includes constellations and a capsule representative of astronaut John Glenn’s mission to orbit the earth. These women were an integral part of NASA’s ability to excel in the global space race. 3’’ wide x 68’’ long. Made in NYC.
Andieanderin’s “Woman for Women” silk necktie is inspired by Seattle philanthropist Melinda Gates. Featuring an all-over contraceptives print to represent her Family Planning 2020 initiative which brings together a global community of leaders who are working together to address the most challenging barriers to expanding access to contraceptives, the green tie underscores the $40 billion that the Gates Foundation has donated to global causes. 2’’ wide x 68’’ long. Best known for her famous design of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C., landscape architect Maya Lin was the inspiration for ‘Stone Stories’, a 100% silk necktie with a marble print. The white necktie with leather tips represents the natural materials Lin used to create the work of art which honors the service members of the U.S. armed forces who fought in the Vietnam War.
