10 Work from Home Pieces You Need Right Now

GG-WorkFromHome.png

The duration of the coronavirus outbreak has given the traditional “work from home” wardrobe a run for its money. Gone are the days when we rolled out of bed and wore pajamas all day. As it turns out, we could all be doing this for a while and in times like these, we can only focus on controlling the things that are actually in control of, for example, the outfits we choose to wear each day. Your work from home wardrobe should be functional, not fancy, and most importantly, it should make you feel good. Here’s a look at our top 10 WFH essentials.

1- A Layering Tank

The best part about working from home is getting to lounge around in whatever you want. One of my personal essentials is an easy cotton tank that can be worn alone or layered under sweatshirts for extra warmth. This relaxed fit tank from Seattle boutique flora & henri is super soft and made from 100% organic cotton.

2- An Easy Tee

You can’t go wrong with jeans and an easy tee during quarantine. They feel like a second skin and honestly, we can all use a little pep talk every time we look into the mirror these days. I love this Wild Feminist slogan tee from Portland-based Wild Fang.

3 - A Soft Sweatshirt

Cozy sweatshirts have become my unofficial work from home uniform over the past few weeks. I love the color and fit of this Amuse Society sweatshirt from Peridot Boutique on Queen Anne. The fabric is a cotton/polyester blend for maximum comfort and stretch.

4 - A Light Weight Sweater

This adorable striped sweater from Emry Boutique in Madison Valley is the perfect way to transition your WFH wardrobe into spring. You can wear this wool-blend sweater with jeans, leggings, or even knit shorts and still feel like a productive human.

5 - A Drawstring Jumpsuit

The Neu Nomads Drawstring Jumpsuit available from Cura Co. offers a cozy way to work from home while still looking put together. We also love that it’s just one piece because no one needs extra laundry to do while in quarantine. Add a sweater to create an “outfit” for video conference calls and you’re all set.

6 - Comfortable Pants

If you’ve given up wearing jeans while you work from home but still need a pair of pants, try these joggers from Buki. They’re made from 3 layers of soft technical fabric that will help thermo-regulate your body temperature. You’ll seriously feel like you’re wearing leggings and the elastic waistband is brilliant because: SNACKS.

7 - Jeans You’ll Actually Love Wearing

I didn’t realize it would be such a controversial decision to continue to wear jeans while in quarantine. In full disclosure, I’m wearing jeans right now as I type this. I think the secret is that when you find jeans you love, you never want to take them off. That’s seriously how I feel about every pair of Madewell jeans I own. The 10-inch high rise skinny jean has the perfect amount of stretch and magically fit in all the right places.

8 - Fresh Face Make up

I first discovered Deciem’s Lightweight Serum Foundation when the brand did a pop-up in London’s Covent Garden and I’ve been obsessed ever since. This sheer, oil-free foundation is available in 21 shades and formulated with SPF 15. The best part? It’s only $6.70 USD. If you’re skipping make-up on most days while you work from home but still want a little bit of coverage, this foundation is for you.

PipeRow-CloudSocks.png

9 - Super Soft Cloud Socks

Since wearing shoes inside the house is gross and especially frowned upon during an epidemic, keep your feet warm and colorful with Cloud Socks from Pipe & Row.

Sanitizing Perfume.png

10 - A Sweet Smelling Hand Sanitizer

In addition to regular handwashing, we also love this Sanitizing Perfume from Prism in Ballard. It’s carefully blended in-house with 70% organic alcohol and will help sanitize hands without drying them out. Available in 4 scents including Citrus Lavender, Citrus Vetiver, Citrus Geranium, and Citrus Mint.

If you’re a jewelry fan, I also recommend these Sophia Hoop earrings from Boma Jewelry to complete your work from home look. They are made from certified 925 sterling silver and feature a gold vermeil finish. Use promo code SYDNEYSQUAD for 20% off.

And last but not least, if you’re working from home and need a little music to set the mood, we recommend the flora & henri playlist on Spotify.
