One such expert who gets to weigh in on the final decision is local colorist Leatrice Eiseman who is the director of the Pantone Color Institute. She lives locally on Bainbridge Island and recently told NPR that this year’s color choice was selected because of its humanizing and heartening qualities that resonate with consumers living in today’s digital world.
